Mid-century Apartment - OFF SITE

Description: PLEASE NOTE: THIS APARMTENT IS OFF-SITE AND IS LOCATED IN THE NORTHERN PART OF THE CITY - THE APARTMENT IS NOT ON-SITE AT THE HOTEL AND IS PRIVATELY OWNED. THE OWNER OF THE APARTMENT IS AN EMPLOYEE AT HOTEL ALEXANDRA AND ALL CONTACT WILL BE BETWEEN THE EMPLOYEE AND THE BOOKER AFTER RESERVATION HAS BEEN MADE. THE HOTEL ONLY FACILITATES THE RESERVATION PROCESS AND PAYMENT. I am a collector of the 50´s and the 60´s and this comes to expression in my 70m2 apartment. My fascination for retro is an obsession, and as such my home is a testament to that - just like stepping into the world of "Mad Men". The apartment comes with two balconies, one in each room. You are welcome to smoke, but please only do so outside on one of the balconies. The bedroom is overlooking the courtyard and is a quiet room with balcony (all the windows are soundproofed). The room is decorated with original furniture and home decor from the 50´s and the 60´s. All furniture is mostly in teak and rosewood. The bed by Hans J. Wegner is 140cm wide and 200cm long - the top mattress material responds to your body’s unique shape, weight and temperature - automatically adapting to support your body. The technology is very similar to Tempur bedding. The living room has a long sofa, large flat screen TV (so not retro ;O) ) and a dining table. As mentioned before, this room also has a balcony. The furniture in the living rooms is primarily home decor from the 50´s and the 60´s, and serves as a tribute to the famous Danish and international Architects/ designers such as Hans J Wegner, Verner Panton, Finn Juhl, Eero Saarinen, Arne Jacobsen and others. The apartment has a large bathroom with a bath tub. The kitchen is rather small, but it is however fully functional and you are of course more than welcome to use it. You will be provided with fresh fruits, free Wi-Fi access, city guide and maps, fresh towels and bed sheets, as well as coffee or tea - just help yourself to it. There is a washing machine that you are also welcome to use. Almost everyone in Copenhagen uses their bike as their main mode of transport. I probably have a bike or two that you can use while you are here (if you are interested) On the bike you are 16min. away from the city center. Nørrebro is the active and hip area of Copenhagen, if you are into retro and vintage I will let you know where to go! There is a supermarket across the street that is open from 07:00 am until 12:00 pm Bakery, pharmacy, take aways (open until very late) sushi restaurant, and the post office, jogging park and many other things are close by. You are 12- 15 minutes away from the National Gallery (biking) 15 minutes from the Botanical garden and the Rosenborg castle 15 - 20 minutes away from the city center. Getting around Copenhagen is easy. The capital has very good infrastructure and easy access. From the apartment the 6A bus takes you straight into the City center in about 10-15min dependant on traffic. Please notice that currently there is ongoing metro construction almost everywhere in the city. Unfortunately, there is one right in front of my building. As I wrote earlier my windows are sound proofed and work does not take place during the weekends or at night. If you wish to stay in a time bubble and really experience mid century modern, be my guest and spread some good vintage karma :O)’ Very important and just to recap: • Smoking is allowed on the balconies only, please. • I am sorry to inform you that I am not accepting travelers with small children. • Pets are not allowed. • 3 nights minimum stay.

Copenhague
