duoMo Hotel, Rimini
"I don't want to make people feel as they were at their own home, because they're not": is with this philosophical sentence that the famous architect and design Ron Arad approached the project for the realization of the Duomo Hotel in Rimini. in the historic heart of Rimini, one of Italy’s long-standing and established seaside resorts. The Duomo hotel addresses the needs of a young, dynamic clientele with its unconventional and exciting design. In fact this outstanding construction has alternative materials, strong colours and uncommon forms, and its special approach to lights and materials make of it one of the most exciting kinds of futuristic structures. Molteni, Alessi, B&B, Jacuzzi..just some names of the brands who collaborated with Arad for the realization of the real spaces of the hotel, that consist in 34 rooms and 9 suites "Dreaming": the real contemporary temple. The Duomo Hotel could be better described as "a club with rooms": the " nomi club & bar" on the ground floor - a wildly curving island with a steel top and sides, creating distorted reflections- is just in front of the street, so destined to become one of the most crowded and funny fashion places of the whole Riviera, where the most famous Djs of Ibiza and New York play. The focal point of the lobby is the space-age reception desk, a stainless steel ring leaning on a column, with a series of aluminium rings embedded in the wall behind allowing daylight in and creating an unusual optical effect. All rooms in Duomo come with wet-room pods that have Alessi lavatories, bidets and illuminating showers. One wall of the wet-room is created entirely of Corian and looks into the bedroom through an oversized round window, which can be covered by a blind for privacy. It looks as if the favourite rooms will be the three ground floor Dreaming Suites, with courtyard and jacuzzi. The quality of its service and staff is surprising and is part of the magic of the surroundings.

And more…the surrounding hills are rich in culture, history and nature as well; it is also among the best places to enjoy Italian cuisine! When in Rimini, apart from getting pleasure from its beaches...do as the Romans....ENJOY....the food...the art...the wine...and the history!!!
