Le Pre Catelan Hotel, Antibes Juan les Pins
This Provençal villa from around 1900 offers a garden with rock terraces, towering palms, lemon and orange trees, large pink geraniums, and trimmed hedges. The atmosphere at Juans Les Pin 's Hotel le Pre Catelan is casual; the setting is uncomplicated and unstuffy. Despite the setting in the heart of town, the garden provides a sense of isolation. Antibes Juan les Pins, France
Juan les Pins, administratively and geographically linked to the city of Antibes, is a very popular resort, situated on the Baie des Anges (Bay of Angels), across from Nice and not far from Cannes. This paradisiacal place provides all you will want on an holiday. You can enjoy the sea air while visiting the little old port of Antibes, filled with fishing boats and superb yachts; or take a walk along the 16th cent. ramparts and stop at the Musée Picasso housed in the old Château Grimaldi; or delight your smell in the folkloric open air Marché Provençal (Provençal Market) full of flowers, mostly roses and carnations, where you may also satisfy your curiosity about the local food. You can also roll your eyes in Cap d'Antibes, admiring the luxury villas and outdoor pools of the super-rich! Travellers who are interested in the history of the area will likely enjoy a visit to the Museum of Archaeology as well the Napoleonic Museum. Juan-les-Pins is mostly the part of Antibes that travellers go to when the sun goes down, as it has the best nightclubs of the area, from bars and clubs to cabarets and casinos. This is also a terrific place for shopping and even a lot of the shops are open all night. Juan les Pins is also where you will find sandy beaches, unlike many of the other pebbled resorts along this coast. Finally, even those who are not usually fans of jazz will appreciate the air of festivity in the city during the Jazz Festival which takes place each July and which has hosted famous jazz musicians including Ray Charles, Duke Ellington, Louis Armstrong, and Ella Fitzgerald and many others.
