Wuxi, Cina
Wuxi si trova a sud della provincia di Jiangsu, sulle rive del gran canale Jinghang, a circa 128 chilometri a ovest di Shanghai. Wuxi è una delle città più antiche della Cina, con una storia di più 3000 anni. La sua vicinanza con il lago Tai Hu, che racchiude più di 90 isole e 30 varietà di pesci, la rendono una località turistica ricca di luoghi d’interesse naturali e creati dall’uomo. Wuxi è rinomata per i moltissimi giardini privati e parchi costruiti nel passato da uomini facoltosi, fra i quali Li Yuan e Mei Yuan, bellissimi esempi ben preservati fino ad oggi. Il parco Xihui, situato ai piedi dello Xi Shan, ospita delle reliquie storiche. Fra i molti luoghi da visitare ricordiamo lo Yuantou Zhu (Isola testa di tartaruga) e Taihu Xiandao (Isola delle divinità ). L’artigianato locale si vanta della produzione delle figurine in argilla Huishan.
