Vera de Bidasoa is located in Navarra, Spain. The region itself is situated in a privileged natural enclave and shares the estuary of its namesake with the French town of Hendaia, together forming Txingudi Bay. The river is a natural border between the two countries and forms part of a rich ecosystem which provides shelter for many species of migratory birds.
