Hotel Altamont is located just minutes from Oxford Street and the city center, and with easy access to the harbour, beaches and airport. Modelled on the first Government House, the original building was built in 1830 and was one of a handful of private mansions constructed at that time on the Darlinghurst Ridge looking back toward the newly established town of Sydney. Within about 10 minutes walk you will find Potts Point, Oxford Street and Kings Cross Station, while the Town Hall, the Opera House, the Royal Botanic Garden, Woolloomooloo Bay and the Circular Quay are all approximately half an hour walk or 10 minutes drive.
