With the Volcano de Fuego serving as a spectacular and impressive backdrop, the town of Comala (Colima) is known for its furniture builders and other crafts including painters and wrought iron work. The town's cobblestone streets, red-tiled roofs, whitewashed buildings, numerous restaurants, and views of the volcano "Volcán de Fuego" make it a picturesque attraction to travelers. Restaurants and artisan craft shops flank the central plaza where it is not unusual to see a mariachi band strolling through the sidewalk cafes.
