The town's cobblestone streets, red-tiled roofs, whitewashed buildings, numerous restaurants, and views of the volcano "Volcán de Fuego" make it a picturesque attraction to travelers. Restaurants and artisan craft shops flank the central plaza where it is not unusual to see a mariachi band strolling through the sidewalk cafes.
