The Canterbury Cathedral is a pilgrimage place for all Christians, first leaded by the Archbishop of Canterbury, but also because of Thomas Becket's murder at Canterbury Cathedral in 1170. The contrast between historical structures, such as The City Wall, the Dane John Mound & Dane John Gardens, the ruins of St Augustine's Abbey, the Norman Castle and The King's School, marry well with the modern additions, including the University of Kent, Canterbury Christ Church University, the Marlowe Theatre, and the St Lawrence Ground.
