About Belgium
While Belgium may look minute on the map, with surrounding France and
Holland, it still equates a reputable presence in Europe. It is the land of
indulgences—culinary and glamorous: Celebrated waffles, romantic cruises,
the finest chocolate, the illustrious, neo-medieval Ghent festival, antique
shopping in Place du Grand Sablon, and unmatched silk patterns. Brussels,
the cosmopolitan capital attracts the art nouveau lover, with its many
museums and the Atomium and Mini Europe. Flanders, located in the north,
houses the countries medieval cities like Antwerp, also known to be prolific
in the diamond industry, and the “Venice of the North, Burges, a canal city
with folklore and romance in the air. And in the south there is Wallonia,
where carnivals and enchanting castles top-off a countryside stay.
