About Denmark

Luxury accommodation in Denmark,  Denmark, Europe's oldest kingdom, is a very inviting country in which to ramble about in. It is an abundance of picturesque villages and cobblestoned towns, historic castles and monuments, and a coastline which varies delightfully from broad sandy beaches to small coves and gentle fjords. Maybe, you’ll feel like Hamlet -the most indecisive of Danes- about what to explore among the countless country's sights. There is the country's capital city, Copenhagen, with its royal castles, parks, squares, spires; the Viking Ship Museum, honouring Denmark's bold ancient mariners; the Tivoli Gardens amusement park; the shopping along the Stroget, the world's longest pedestrian mall; and not least, like a precious pearl, Nyhavn, the avant-garde New Harbour. There is Odense -on the neighbouring island of Funen- the charming capital of Fairytales, that spawned the great story-teller Hans Christian Andersen; Ribe, Scandinavia's oldest town which is still like it was three centuries ago. If you are a lover of music, the city of Aarhus offers you everything from symphony performances to theatres, beyond its proud churches and reconstructed Danish village, Den Gamle By (The Old Town); Aalborg with its aquavit; the stunning white chalk cliffs of Mon's Klint, on the island of Lolland; and last but not least the picturesque theme park called Legoland -in central Jylland- filled with scale models of many familiar landmarks all built entirely out of Legos! Fantastic kilometrical bicycle roads make Denmark a great country to see from the saddle of the bike. And since it is also almost totally surrounded by water (it has about 500 islands!), swimming, windsurfing, yachting, sailing and fishing are other outdoor opportunities to enjoy. Hungry after all this great activities? Pull out all the stops and splurge on a modern-day Babette's Feast: fresh fish and seafood (including herring and Scandinavian salmon), free-range chicken, beef and pork from Jutland, pheasants, and roast duck, as well as incomparable Danish cheeses and sweet butter. Wash it all down with a Carlsberg or Tuborg beer! Add to this a people both friendly and helpful with a big respect for the place where they live and the result is an overwhelming sense of welcome!
