Located in the lower reaches of the Haihe River and opposite the Bohai Sea to the east, Tianjin is an important industrial and commercial centre of North China and one of the four municipalities in China. Tianjin means 'the place where the emperor crossed the river'. The city enjoys diverse four seasons throughout the year, but autumn is the best season. Tianjin is a famous cultural city with a long history and an impressive historical background. The main scenic sites include Mt.Panshan Scenic Area, Dole Temple, Huangyaguan Great Wall, Wanghai Tower and Dagukou Fort. There are also countless beautiful natural landscapes as well as great historical events. Getting in and around the city is convenient thanks to the well-planned transportation system. If you choose to come by water, there are a series of international and domestic sea routes in the port of Tianjin, but you can come by plane arriving at the Tianjin Binhai International Airport, or by land via trains or long-distance buses.
